This is a pivotal role working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to grow the corporate partnerships programme across our three hospitals, Guy’s & St Thomas’, Guy’s Cancer and Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

This role will be focused on bringing in new business through strategic partnerships for the Charities, where you will identify and build a significant pipeline of prospective partnerships that align with the strategic fundraising priorities of the Trust. 

Strong emphasis will be on building and cultivating long-term high-value strategic partnerships and fostering effective and productive relationships with a range of key stakeholders. You will play an active leadership role within the corporate partnerships team through supporting and coaching the Corporate Managers and Officer to support their new business approaches. 

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop significant partnerships across our three hospitals. 
  • To employ significant and creative relationship building skills to enthuse and inspire partnerships to increase fundraising ambitions. 
  • To devise and implement innovative prospect plans which are reviewed and updated regularly. 
  • To develop and present prospects and partners with the appropriate fundraising propositions that align with their CSR commitments and the strategic fundraising priorities of the hospitals, utilising sophisticated influencing and negotiation skills to secure long-term, strategic partnerships. 
  • To plan strategies to secure partnerships from companies at the level of £100,000 and above. To implement these strategies by building best-in-class cultivation and stewardship of these prospects and making powerful asks that will deliver six and seven figure commitments. 
  • Play a significant role, working alongside the Head of Corporate Partnerships to develop and deliver our corporate strategy.
  • To be responsible for developing and implementing sector strategies within your prospect portfolio. 
  • To deputise for the Head of Corporate Partnerships when necessary. 
  • Provide leadership around new business to the Corporate Managers and Officer.
  • To foster effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders to maximise our network of influencers from clinicians, academics, nursing staff and senior leadership across the three hospitals to enhance your prospect pipeline. 
Work environment  
  • The post holder should expect to: 
    • Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.
    • Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.  
    • Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven track record in developing significant (6 and 7 figures) corporate partnerships from scratch within the Charity or Commercial sectors. 
  • Significant experience of developing and delivering exceptional pitches and written proposals to corporate prospects.
  • Experience of presenting to and influencing key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience of working in the charity sector is desirable.
  • An exceptional leader with excellent interpersonal and relationship development skills. 
  • Ability to deputise for the Head of Corporate Partnerships when required.
  • Be able to represent the Charities at a senior level both internally and externally.
  • Ability to be both a strategic and creative thinker, who can work collaboratively as well as independently.  
  • Ability to plan strategically and implement prospect and stewardship plans to maximise impact for the charities.
  • Ability to plan and deliver projects independently within budgets and on time.
  • Confident public speaker with excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to use own initiative.
  • Computer literate i.e. Office 365 package, Power BI, etc.
  • Knowledge of a Fundraising Database (e.g. Raiser’s Edge).
  • A team player with a collaborative working style and a clear focus on delivering outcomes.

  • Willingness to work hard and attend, where necessary, commitments outside normal office hours
