What we’re doing together

Children and families living on lower incomes in urban areas such as Lambeth and Southwark often struggle to access healthy, affordable food in the places they spend their time.

We are testing a range of approaches and innovations that aim to support a healthy, accessible, and thriving local food ecosystem in Lambeth and Southwark. We think that a user-friendly and scalable could be a key feature of this ecosystem.

In partnership with Comuzi, we want to test how to best roll out a platform that responds to food businesses’ needs and increases people’s awareness of and access to healthier local options.

Aims of the partnership

  • Increase families’ access to healthier food options locally, through improved visibility and promotions available on the platform.
  • Increase visibility and customer engagement for local businesses, ultimately increasing revenue and contributing to a sustainable business model that focuses on healthier and affordable culturally appropriate food.
  • Test and explore with Comuzi the best ways of engaging and supporting both families and local businesses across the local food economy.

Connection to our strategy

We want to support a thriving and resilient local food economy in Lambeth and Southwark. This includes supporting and harnessing entrepreneurship and innovation to make healthier and culturally appropriate food more accessible and affordable to local families living on low incomes. Through this partnership with Comuzi, we are able to support and work with a range of local food businesses and entrepreneurs to design a platform that seeks to increase the promotion and visibility of healthier food options for communities.
