We’re supporting an innovative programme for social entrepreneurs, charities and community projects focused on improving health in Lambeth and Southwark.

The Health and Wellbeing Trade Up Programme will provide social entrepreneurs with a grant matching growth in sales, up to £10,000. They will also receive a year of learning and peer support from other entrepreneurs.

The organisations chosen will work to help reduce childhood obesity or are to slow the progression from one long-term condition to many, in working-age adults.

Working with the School for Social Entrepreneurs

We’re partnering with School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) to provide local entrepreneurs with grant funding to match income from sales in a bid to start and help sustain great ideas and projects that can tackle some of the biggest health challenges of our time.

We’re delighted to be working with Impact on Urban Health. This scheme will help social entrepreneurs strengthen their organisations and impact lives. We know it’s not easy running a social organisation, so we make sure you have the space to reflect and grow as a leader. You'll build a support network, and learn how to take your project to the next level. And the Match Trading grant will support you to develop your income from trading.

What are Match Trading™ grants?

Match Trading™ grants are an innovation by SSE. They provide grant funding to match an increase in income from trading pound-for-pound.

By rewarding sales growth, grants incentivise social organisations to develop their trading base, so they can build stronger futures. Pilots of Match Trading™ grants have seen social organisations typically increase their income from trading by more than 90% in one year.

Our scheme will support 15 ambitious social entrepreneurs in our boroughs. They will already be running a business that helps improve the health of people in Lambeth and Southwark – and help them to grow it.

The Match Trading grants support projects across our childhood obesity and multiple long-term conditions programmes. Find out more about our urban health programmes.
