As part of The State of Urban Health research, we undertook descriptive quantitative analysis of 67 publicly available indicators to understand the difference between outcomes in urban and rural areas.

In addition, we did a review of 69 publicly available indicators to understand trends over time, and how selected urban areas (Lambeth, Southwark, Birmingham, Leicester, Manchester, and Southampton) compare with England overall and, where available, inequalities by deprivation, ethnicity, and other key characteristics.

Indicators span demographics, family structures & experiences, health outcomes, housing, money and resources, education, community and neighbourhood, and environment.
