Programme Director
Kamna leads our children's mental health programme.
Kamna leads the Children’s mental health programme. Her work ranges from supporting the team to identify innovative approaches to tackling the root causes of children’s mental health issues to developing approaches that centre the knowledge and expertise of parents and communities in the programme’s work.
She comes to us from Paul Hamlyn Foundation, where she worked in policy and advanced the organisation’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion learning journey. Prior to that, she worked at The National Lottery Community Fund. She began her career working at Newham Asian Women’s Project (Now, London Black Women’s Project), working with young women and girls to build confidence and self-esteem while conducting research and delivering training for statutory service providers to raise awareness about the culturally specific issues impacting on Asian women’s health and wellbeing.
In her voluntary life, Kamna is a trustee at Institute for Voluntary Action Research and a small charity, OKMT, which provides music therapy to young children and adults experiencing a range of mental and physical disabilities. She is also a member of Edge Fund, a participatory grant-making body and is interested in shifting power in grant-making.
Our team bring together a unique combination of expertise, skills and drive to meet our ambition of making cities healthier places for everyone to live in.
